Overview
Founded in 1962, Chaney Enterprises is committed to delivering high-quality ready-mix concrete and aggregates. With operations spanning the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions, the company supplies materials by land, sea, and rail. Headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, Chaney Enterprises operates more than 110 ready-mix concrete plants and over a dozen sand and gravel facilities.

Growth was outpacing a manual AR process
A high-volume AR portfolio, an aggressive M&A strategy, and a lean credit team meant every manual step in the AR process got multiplied. Every single payment required manual work — either to capture it or to apply it. The credit team was spending 40 hours per month manually entering payments into Chaney's ERP, and an extra hour per day researching short pays and missing remittance.
Many of Chaney's customers are field based. So even if a collector connected, there wasn't much the customer could do until they were back at the office, in front of a computer. That drove additional phone calls the credit team had to field for repetitive invoice and account questions.
COD payments were creating friction in the sales process too. With a dispatch team of 30+, there was a clear opportunity to streamline the process and provide a more consistent approach to pre-authorizations and credit card surcharges.
And the team wanted a more centralized, consistent view of AR. If a customer asked what they owed on a specific project, Chaney's credit team had to look in multiple systems to answer. Even generating weekly overdue balance reports meant collectors manually extracting data and manipulating it in Excel.
What changed with Suppli
Chaney launched Suppli's digital credit teammate in October 2025. Now Suppli automatically reaches out to past due customers by text and email to collect payments and apply them back to the ERP, reducing the number of past due accounts by 23%. Chaney's credit team is saving roughly 43 hours per month on cash application alone.
Customers can now pay from the field, their truck, or the office, 24/7, in a couple of taps from their phone. 87% of them say Suppli has made it easier to pay and do business with Chaney.
For COD payments, dispatch can send text and email pay links to the customer while they're ordering, halving the time it takes to get orders processed. And with Suppli's dynamic surcharging, card surcharge fees are calculated and applied programmatically instead of dispatch working them out by hand — eliminating leakage and saving Chaney a significant amount in card fees annually.
Chris Crum, Chaney's Director of Financial Operations, now has a single view of the entire AR and payments process, from dispatch all the way to the C-suite. “We've built a full standard operating procedure off of Suppli's data that we wouldn't have even been able to document or provide with just our ERP.”
The visibility Suppli provided to us as a team to be able to make more strategic decisions has been fantastic.
